Saejae Youth hostel, in which the youth cultivates their character and train physical and mental strength, is located at Mungyong Saejae in the heart of mountains having the secret of primitive nature where a bird takes breath and flies, cloud sleeps and moves, and wind stops and goes.

This area is not only natural park preserving the primitive deep forest, beautiful curving streams and excellent scenery of rock formations, but also very significant historical place of Hwalangs and S nbis, who had endeavored to develop their character and focused on self-training, finally overcame national crises. Young Hwalangs making a great contribution to the remarkable national unity in the Samguk period conveyed their spirit and pride to the other regions of Korean peninsular through the road which has been called 'Saejae' in this area. Besides, Sonbis, Confucian scholars, transmitted their righteous idea and scholarship which formed the national spirit and ethic defending Korean peninsular against innumerable crises, through this road during Chos n period.

The merit of the Saejae Youth Hostel has been recognized and verified by the fact that the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Korea designated the Hostel as the model case of the youth training place in 2003.
